This is an exciting time for AVIO owners. The folks at DJROCK have released an incredible hardware update for the AVIO and the Classic video editors. I was given the opportunity to play with one over the weekend of October 17, 2003. Yes it out clocks the KRON. In fact I expect it comes darn close to the KRON plus. I had the privilege of tooling around with Version 2 which runs at 800 MHZ with a K6-3+. The unit is 300% faster than stock. DJROCK tells me that Version 1 runs with a K6-2 and is engineered to be comparable to the regular Kron. This unit is 150% faster than stock. I am also told that even the Pentium 233MMX version of AVIO can be upgraded. This version is 70% faster than stock. The Cassie too has a major power boost from DJROCK. The upgrade boosts the power of the 68060 by close to 60%. More Excitement to come I'm sure!
